In this film, the narrator is the protagonist who has been diagnosed with a rare syndrome in hopes of learning more about it. He realizes that his condition is a blessing in disguise and decides to explore his life in order to live in the present. This movie is not for everyone due to its somewhat dark themes and negative connotations, but it has been shown on major cable networks. The protagonist's journey starts from both a physical and an emotional perspective. He struggles with romantic relationships while also trying to cope with his disorder through alcohol or drugs. However, this only leads him deeper into misery as he neglects his friends and feels isolated from society at large once he recovers from addiction. However, he explores his life and realizes that through the help of his family and friends, he is able to create a support group to help him through his troubles. The protagonist's journey for self-discovery takes place in Italy. The Uffizi Gallery, one of the oldest museums in the world, is shown as a symbol of his struggle for self-knowledge. He goes from room to room trying to find solace from his environment and once he realizes how alone he is, sees a reflection of himself in a painting by Raphael. The story also shows the protagonist's quest to understand himself better by researching topics such as evolution and mental illnesses. He looks into the subject of evolution and learns that humans may have developed from monkeys, since many of our characteristics such as our ability to reason and use tools do not match those of chimps. The story begins in a small, white house on a hill overlooking the Piazza Barberini in Rome. It is illustrated how he has grown up with his family in a small town in Italy. He is shown helping his dad with a mechanic shop and admiring his friends who all seem to be healthy. One day, out of the blue, he is diagnosed with a rare syndrome that ends up causing him to lose his sense of taste. This is where his journey into self-discovery begins. He learns that his condition is caused by an enzyme that affects the nervous system and affects his sense of taste. This affliction has also hindered him in his romantic relationships with women, which has resulted in him hurting them or breaking up with them due to his lack of self-control. He realizes the connection between him and the Uffizi Gallery when he hears a guide speaking about Michelangelo being inspired to do artwork after visiting this museum. This leads him to realize how he might have been able to have spent more time with girls earlier on in his life if he had not been so obsessed with food as a child. He journeys out into Florence, Italy where he goes to the Uffizi Gallery. Here he learns that he is not alone in his struggles, Michelangelo was inspired to create artwork after visiting this museum. The protagonist figures out that if it had been a girl who had been there instead of Michelangelo, they might have been able to fall in love and have a daughter together. He realizes how much time boys spend with their mothers at a young age and how he paid more attention to eating than girls in his life which then led him into trouble when it came time for him to date women. cfa1e77820
